Designer Cakes of London has enjoyed exceptional growth and success over the past two years.
Founder and cake designer Elaine Rhule discovered her passion for baking in her family kitchen in Sierra Leone, where she learned alongside her mother. Today, Elaine and her talented team create bespoke cakes for clients across London and beyond.
Our philosophy is simple—there are no shortcuts. Every cake is handcrafted using the finest ingredients to create a masterpiece that is both visually stunning and delicious.
We thrive on creativity and love a challenge. From incredibly realistic novelty cakes to spectacular multi-tier wedding cakes, we bring our clients’ visions to life.
Our cakes have been delivered to some of London’s most prestigious venues, including The Dorchester, The Ritz London, The Shard, and the UK House of Commons.
Our work has also been enjoyed by a number of high-profile clients, including Usain Bolt, Floyd Mayweather, Kylie Jenner, 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, and many more.
Our Order Process
Order Changes
- No changes can be made to wedding cake orders within 14 days of the delivery date.
Hired Items
- Cake stands are not included with your order but are available to hire. We also hire other non-edible presentation items, including tables and tablecloths.
- A refundable security deposit, in addition to the hire fee, is required for all hired items. The deposit will be refunded once all items are returned in their original, undamaged condition.
Delivery

- Delivery is not included in the price of your cake. Delivery costs are calculated once you provide the full delivery address.
- Alternatively, you may collect your cake at a pre-arranged time from 16 Regent Square, Belvedere, DA17 6EP.
- Our standard delivery window is 8:00am–4:00pm.
- Once your delivery is confirmed, you must provide the full delivery address and ensure someone is available to receive the cake.
- Our delivery team will make one delivery attempt only. If delivery is unsuccessful, your cake will need to be collected from 16 Regent Square, Belvedere, DA17 6EP at a mutually agreed time.
- We do not share photographs of cakes before delivery, whether finished or unfinished, to preserve the surprise and protect our creative process.
Payment deadlines
- A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all bookings
- Wedding cake – 10 working days before the wedding date
- Celebration cakes – 5 working days before our delivery or collection
Replicating Images
If you provide us with a reference image, our aim is to recreate the design as closely as possible using our own techniques, equipment, and edible materials.
Because every cake artist uses different moulds, cutters, and decorating methods, it is not always possible to produce an exact replica. Instead, we create the closest possible interpretation while maintaining the overall style and appearance of the original design.
Designer Cakes of London is known for its attention to detail. Where appropriate, we may add extra decorative detail to enhance the finished cake, rather than simplify the design.
We include this information to set realistic expectations. Every cake is handcrafted and made from edible materials, making each creation unique while staying true to the original inspiration.
Refunds
As all of our cakes are bespoke and made to your individual requirements, we are unable to offer refunds if you simply change your mind after collection or delivery. This does not affect your statutory rights where a product is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality.
If you are unhappy with your order, please contact us by email within 24 hours of receiving your cake so we can investigate the issue promptly.
- We will arrange to collect the cake at a mutually agreed time. Our collection service operates 24 hours a day across the South East of England to ensure cakes can be collected as quickly as possible.
- Concealed cakes must be returned in their original packaging.
- Displayed cakes must be returned in their original condition. Our collection team will photograph the cake upon collection to document its condition.
- We are unable to offer a refund unless the cake is returned for inspection and documentation.
- Once the cake has been collected and documented, any approved refund will be processed promptly.
- Where a refund is not appropriate, we will always aim to resolve the matter fairly and may offer an alternative solution, including discretionary compensation, depending on the circumstances.
